Il nostro futuro, una pagina da scrivere domenica 4 Marzo

Tra qualche giorno saremo chiamati alle urne per esprimere le nostre preferenze di voto per il rinnovo del Parlamento italiano. Un’ombra pesante sembra abbattersi su questo importante appuntamento: l’astensionismo.

Nelle ultime tornate elettorali, nazionali ed amministrative, è stata registrata l’affluenza più bassa della storia della Repubblica italiana. Sempre più spesso infatti, si sentono persone dire che non sono interessate alla politica o che è inutile andare a votare perché tanto sono tutti uguali e non cambia nulla.

Oggi, agli occhi dei più, la parola “politica” appare terribilmente consumata. Nei suoi confronti c’è delusione, distacco, rifiuto ed ostilità. E’ difficile sfuggire alla sensazione che oggi, mentre tutto si muove velocemente e freneticamente, la politica invece sia lenta, impacciata, in ritardo. Ma non è così. La politica può essere bella. E bisogna tornare a crederci. La politica è “qualcosa che è dentro la vita di ognuno di noi, profondamente intrecciata con i nostri sentimenti, con la nostra moralità. E’ qualcosa che ha a che fare con la necessità di dare un senso profondo, etico, al nostro agire”. (Vittorio Foa). Non c’è politica senza valori, senza programmi, senza condivisione. E le persone sono al primo posto con le loro ansie da condividere, i loro problemi da risolvere, le loro speranze da confortare.

Questa è la cosa importante. Questa è la politica. E’ l’idea del governo delle cose per aiutare la gente. E’ attenzione alle disuguaglianze, agli “strappi” che si creano nella società e che devono essere ricuciti, sostenendo chi è in difficoltà, proteggendo chi non ce la fa da solo, promuovendo la responsabile assunzione del proprio destino da parte di chi è in grado di procedere da sé, avendone l’opportunità.

La politica è l’applicazione concreta di quel principio: le persone al primo posto.

E noi giovani dobbiamo ritagliarci un ruolo preponderante all’interno dei vari schieramenti. L'attenzione e l'interesse civico devono essere il punto di forza delle nuove generazioni, protagonisti del proprio futuro e consapevoli delle prospettive a breve ed a lungo termine.

Questo mio appello al volo infatti vuole essere rivolto innanzitutto ai ragazzi, ai giovani come me che oramai sono sempre più lontani dalla politica, disinteressati, convinti che la politica possa essere solamente delusione, distacco, rifiuto ed ostilità.

Ricordiamoci che il voto è il mezzo più efficace che abbiamo per esprimere un consenso o un dissenso e per essere artefici del nostro destino, senza lasciarlo nelle mani altrui. Non è una semplice croce apposta su un banale foglio di carta.

E cosa c’è di più bello che poter scrivere il nostro futuro? Dimostriamolo il 4 marzo.

Our future, a page to be written on Sunday March 4th

In a few days we will be called to the ballot boxes to express our voting preferences for the renewal of the Italian Parliament. A heavy shadow seems to fall on this important appointment: the low tornout.

Today, at the eyes of the most, the word "politics" appears terribly consumed. There is disappointment, detachment, rejection and hostility towards its. It is difficult to escape to the feeling that today, while everything is moving fast and frantically, politics is slow, clumsy and late. But it was not always so. Politics can be beautiful. And we must go back to believing it. politics is "something that is inside the life of each of us, deeply interwoven with our feelings, with our morality. It's something that has to deal with the need to give a deep, ethical sense to our actions" (Vittorio Foa). There is no politics without values, programs, sharing. And people are at the first place with their anxieties to be shared, their problems to be solved, their hopes to be comforted.

This is the important thing. This is politics. It's the idea of a government of things to help people. It is attention to the inequalities, the "tears" that are created in society and that need to be clad, by supporting those who are in trouble, protecting those who do not get there alone, by promoting the responsible take care of their own destiny by those who are able to carry on by himself, having this opportunity.

Politics is the concrete application of this principle: people at the first place.

And we guys have to cut out a preponderant role within the various parties. Attention and civic interest must be the strength of the new generations, key players of their own future and aware of the short and long-term perspectives.

In fact, this my call for a vote wants to be addressed first of all to young people, to boys and girls like me who are now more and more distant from politics, disinterested, convinced that politics can only be disappointment, detachment, rejection and hostility.

Let us remember that the vote is the most effective means we have to express a consensus or dissent and to be architects of our destiny, without leaving it in the hands of others. It is not a simple cross on a normal piece of paper.

And what's more beautiful than being able to write our future? Let's show it on March 4th.
