Coachella Festival… perché ne abbiamo tanto sentito parlare negli ultimi giorni

Il Coachella Festival (il cui nome completo è Coachella Music and Arts Festival) è un festival di musica e di arte che si tiene ogni anno nei pressi di Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, nel deserto del Colorado.

Tutti ne abbiamo sentito parlare nei giorni scorsi grazie all’ampia diffusione che ha avuto sui social networks, ma in pochi sappiamo cos’è.

La prima edizione si è tenuta nel 1999, ma con scarsa affluenza di pubblico, per cui l'anno successivo il festival non si è tenuto. La macchina organizzativa è ripartita nel 2001 e da quell'edizione in poi l'evento ha continuato a crescere in popolarità. Inizialmente dalla durata di un solo giorno, quest’anno si è tenuto dal 13 al 22 aprile. È in questi giorni che le strutture dell’Empire Polo Fields di Indio hanno visto alternarsi su più palchi numerosi artisti appartenenti ai generi musicali più disparati, dall’elettronica all’hip hop, dal grunge all’indie, oltre ad esposizioni di street art ed installazioni d’arte contemporanea.

Un evento imperdibile, oramai considerato un cult, che ogni anno attira una marea di persone provenienti da tutto il mondo… Non solo turisti curiosi, ma fashion bloggers internazionali, calciatori e tutti i più grandi volti appartenenti allo showbiz. E allora perché non iniziare a programmare un tour nella California del Sud per l’anno prossimo con tappa obbligatoria nella Coachella Valley in concomitanza con le date del Festival? Non vi piacerebbe pernottare nella struttura di camping con tende e stazioni per caravan e provare la sensazione di passare dai 41 gradi del mattino, sotto il sole cocente, ai 6 gradi della notte tipici del deserto del Colorado? A me sì, molto e credo sia una delle cose da fare almeno una volta nella vita.

So why do not start planning a tour in Southern California for next year with a mandatory stop in the Coachella Valley according to the dates of the Festival? Would you like to stay overnight in the camping with tents and caravan stations and experience the sensation of going from 41 degrees in the morning, under the scorching sun, to the 6 degrees of the night typical of the Colorado desert? Yes, I’d like so a lot and I think it's one of the things to do at least once in my life.
